Matt Sammon took to Twitter today to announce that his time with the Tampa Bay Lightning has come to an end.
Sammon was instrumental in the development of Lightning Power Play, a digital product that offers team content 24/7. The success of Lightning Power Play lead to several other teams offering their own 24/7 digital products, including the Los Angeles Kings, who’s radio broadcasts are now heard exclusively online.
The circumstances of Sammon’s exit are unknown at this time. A fan Tweeted at Erik Erlendsson of LightningInsider.com looking for answers, but the reporter had none to offer.
Barrett Sports Media will update this story as more details become available.
