Chad Dukes is continuing his successful run as the afternoon host for 106.7 The Fan in Washington D.C. On Tuesday, Dukes announced via Twitter, he signed a two-year contract extension with the Entercom owned D.C. sports radio station.
Chad Dukes vs. The World airs every weekday on 106.7 The Fan from 2:30 – 6pm. The often unfiltered radio host began his career as an intern for The Sports Junkies, prior to their current tenure on The Fan. After stops in Baltimore and Phoenix, Dukes has been on-air in D.C. for over a decade. The radio host has been part of 106.7 The Fan since the station began airing a sports talk format in 2009, partnering with former Redskins linebacker LaVar Arrington for their afternoon drive show. For the last five years, Dukes has been the timeslot’s solo host after Arrington departed to work full-time with the NFL Network.
The popular radio host’s contract extension was met with plenty of positive responses on social media, which led to mention of a potential TV deal for Dukes. When one listener asked if a future television simulcast was a possibility for the afternoon show, The Fan’s program director, Chris Kinard replied on Twitter, “I think video is definitely in Chad’s near future.” Although nothing appears to be imminent, 106.7 The Fan’s morning show The Sports Junkies have a TV simulcast on NBC Sports Washington, making a potential partnership with Dukes seem viable.
