Pete “Taz” Senerchia, professional wrestling heavyweight champion and former WWE commentator announced he’s leaving his daily show on CBS Sports Radio after this week.

For nearly two years the former wrestling star partnered with Marc Malusis for Taz & The Moose, weekdays from 6 – 9am ET on Entercom’s CBS Sports Radio, but the duo won’t continue in 2020.

Taz & The Moose partnered in 2018 after Gregg Giannotti left his CBS Sports Radio show Gio & Jones with Brian Jones, to join WFAN’s morning drive. Similar circumstances could be contributing to the end of Taz & The Moose as Malusis appears likely to join WFAN’s lineup in 2020.

According to Andrew Marchand of The New York Post, Malusis is the favorite to partner with Maggie Gray for middays on the FAN. With Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts poised to take over the station’s afternoon show following the departure of Mike Francesa, Gray will step into their longtime midday post.

Gray’s current co-host, Bart Scott appears headed to ESPN Radio, which leaves an open chair for Malusis on WFAN. Taz’s confirmed departure from CBS Sports Radio only makes it more likely that Malusis will join the FAN’s midday opening. Moose and Maggie previously worked together for four years, co-hosting a Saturday show on CBS Sports Radio.

As the former wrestler departs CBS Sports Radio’s weekday lineup, he did state that he will continue The Taz Show, a podcast on RADIO.COM. Taz also recently expressed an interest in returning to a wrestling commentator role.

Following his retirement from pro wrestling in 2002, Taz spent more than a decade as a color analyst with the WWE and TNA. In September, Taz tweeted that he missed doing commentary and has had conversations with pro-wrestling companies about potential work.

SiriusXM has announced its extensive plans for coverage of Super Bowl LVII and the events leading up to the big game.

A dedicated Super Bowl pop-up channel on SiriusXM Channel 104 will be just one of the avenues SiriusXM plans to cover the event. Amber Theoharis will conduct interviews with players, and personalities making their way through Radio Row throughout the week that will air on the pop-up channel.

Mad Dog Sports Radio will have a large presence on Radio Row, with shows hosted by Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, Adam Schein, Dusty Dvoracek, Danny Kanell, and Steve Torre all airing live on location in Arizona. Former NFL All-Pro wide receiver Brandon Marshall will be on hand to host I Am Athlete Tonight from the event, as well.

“With all eyes and ears focused on Phoenix for Super Bowl Week, SiriusXM will deliver fans around the country the unique mix of sports, music and entertainment programming that you can only find on SiriusXM,” said SiriusXM President and Chief Content Officer Scott Greenstein.

“With multiple game broadcasts, several channels in Phoenix covering the latest news and providing expert analysis on the teams, interviews with many of the celebrities in town for the game, and our exclusive concert with Luke Combs, our subscribers will have exceptional access throughout the biggest week on the NFL calendar.”

ESPNU Radio hosts Colt McCoy, Rick Neuheisel, and Max Starks will also be in Arizona on Radio Row, in addition to Dusty and Danny hosting their shows each day from Radio Row.

Fantasy football expert Jeff Mans and SportsGrid Radio host Scott Ferrall will also originate content from Radio Row.

SiriusXM will offer four different game broadcasts of Super Bowl LVII. The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles home broadcasts will each air, as will the national Westwood One call. Additionally, a Spanish-language broadcast will also be provided. Listeners will also be able to hear the halftime show — performed by pop star Rihanna — on Sirius XM Hits 1, The Heat, and Super Bowl LVII Radio.

Change is afoot at SportsTalk 790 in Houston. Chris Gordy will have a new co-host in middays as N.D. Kalu exits and Stan Norfleet comes aboard for Next Up.

Kalu, a former Houston Texans defensive end, has decided to leave radio behind. Instead, he will focus on his real estate business.

“N.D. is a tremendous talent and one of the most down-to-earth people I’ve ever had the privilege to work with. He will be missed,” said iHeartMedia Houston’s head of AM programming, Bryan Erickson.

Stan Norfleet comes to Houston after most recently being on WFNZ in Charlotte. He is no stranger to Texas, though. He finished his college football career at Texas Southern University. He also worked in the sales departments for both the Rockets and the Texans.

“It is a tremendous blessing and honor to join the renowned iHeartMedia Houston family. I have long been a fan and avid listener of Sportstalk 790 and respect the history and contributions of its personalities,” Stan Norfleet said in a press release. “My affinity for Space City spans nearly two decades and I look forward to connecting with old friends and new listeners in the market.”

In addition to his time on air in Charlotte, Norfleet has also been heard on 92.9 The Game in Atlanta and seen on Raycom’s regionally syndicated ACC Network. He is also a former columnist at BSM.

“Stan brings amazing passion to everything he does,” said Erickson. “He has strong local ties and we’re thrilled to add him to the team.”
