The WWE tells The Hollywood Reporter that Erika Nardini has joined the company’s corporate board of directors. The company hopes to use the Barstool CEO’s success with its younger male fanbase to bolster its consumer business.
“Erika is a seasoned executive with a tremendous track record of building businesses, developing experiences, and engaging different audiences across the media ecosystem,” WWE CEO Vince McMahon said in a press release. “Her entrepreneurial spirit, business acumen and understanding of today’s consumers will serve as a perfect addition to our Board of Directors.”
Nardini joined Barstool in 2016. While the company’s growth had begun before her arrival, she has overseen some major milestones for the brand, including the sale of a stake in the company to Penn National. At the time of the deal, the casino operator gave Barstool a $450 million valuation.
Nardini joins the company just over a month after Nick Kahn came on board from CAA. He will serve as the new WWE President. The new faces are part of the WWE’s efforts to rebound from the Covid-19 Pandemic, which has taken a huge chunk out of the company’s business and television ratings.
