Tiger Woods won’t be participating in The Match the day after Thanksgiving, but golf fans will still be able to consume content featuring the 15-time major winner next weekend.
One week after HBO released the trailer for their upcoming Tiger Woods documentary, ESPN dropped a teaser of their own. Set to premier next Sunday, Nov. 29, Tiger Woods: America’s Son will air at 7pm ET on ESPN. Similar to the HBO doc, ESPN’s film touts rarely seen footage of Woods and exclusive interviews.
“Throughout this hour we hope that viewers see Tiger Woods in a new light and be challenged to think about what it is that makes him uniquely American,” VP of content and features for ESPN Craig Lazarus said in a press release. “In many ways, Tiger’s story shows us that there is no single experience in America.”
Tiger Woods: America’s Son was created by ESPN’s The Undefeated, a content platform focusing on exploring the intersection of sports, race and culture. The project will tell the story of Woods becoming the first Black golfer to win a major tournament, his racial identity and his impact on America.
