Move over SpongeBob SquarePants, Nickelodeon has a new viewership king, and it’s NFL Playoff football.
Nickelodeon injected slime cannons, bright graphics, and SpongeBob to boost a total snoozer between the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints into its highest watched program in four years.
The NFL and Nickelodeon collaborated on a Wild Card game broadcast to attract more viewers from the younger demographic. Around 2 million people tuned in.
On CBS, the game was watched by 28.6 million viewers. Combined, the two networks netted over 30 million total. You can mark that down as the most-watched game of the weekend.
