NBA Reportedly Considering March All-Star Game

“With the NBA and National Basketball Players Association engaged in discussions about creating an All-Star Game in early March, proceeds of the event would support COVID-19 relief funds and historically Black universities.”

After making the decision last year to postpone the 2021 NBA All-Star Game, the league is now reportedly considering a condensed version of the event, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski

Originally scheduled for Feb. 12-14 in Indianapolis, the NBA has since awarded the city with its 2024 All-Star Game to make up for the cancelled event this season. With the NBA and National Basketball Players Association engaged in discussions about creating an All-Star Game in early March, proceeds of the event would support COVID-19 relief funds and historically Black universities. 

The NBA already has a scheduled midseason break from March 5 -10. Utilizing the available week, March 7 has emerged as the possible date for the All-Star event which would be an abbreviated version of the normal festivities fans are used to. 

According to the ESPN report, Atlanta would host the proposed event, and as the home city of Turner Sports, it allows the network to televise the game with minimal travel. But, players, league staff and personnel would still n
