Rich Gannon will not return to CBS next season as an NFL game analyst. His television contract is not being renewed.
Gannon was paired with Greg Gumbel on Sunday’s and based off of ratings, the aforementioned duo was assigned the fourth most-watched game of the week.
The former NFL MVP who has spent the last 16 seasons in the television booth calling NFL action will have other duties this fall.
It was just last year that CBS announced the Tony Romo monster extension. Charles Davis left his post at FOX to join Ian Eagle as the number two game of the week for CBS.
Greg Olsen hung his cleats to join Kevin Burkhardt as FOX’s number two team.
