It’s been 25 years since we were blessed with Happy Gilmore. The Internet community has been screaming for a sequel to the golf comedy for decades since.
Dan Patrick may have accelerated the process of actually getting the movie made.
In an interview on The Dan Patrick Show Wednesday morning, Adam Sandler agreed to green-light Happy Gilmore 2. Co-star Christopher McDonald, who played the villain Shoot McGavin, agreed saying that he would love to be part of a sequel and bring the characters to life again.
The premise that has been floated by fans is Happy and Shooter playing on the PGA Senior Tour.
“In that Senior Tour idea, it would be so amazing,” Sandler told The DP Show.
“I am double in. Yes. I would love to do it. Everyone has been screaming for it like Adam said on the Internet. It would be a complete blast. The Senior Tour with us two – oh my God,” McDonald said.
Adam Sandler has a lot of pull in Hollywood to make this happen. The concept of Happy Gilmore 2 is sitting two feet from the hole.
