A new deal between Dish Network and DraftKings will let subscribers to Dish’s Hopper service place bets on NBA, NHL, and college games right from their remotes in markets where that is legal. All a subscriber has to do is download the DraftKings app on their device.
John Fingas of Yahoo reports that Dish has bigger plans for the deal too. DraftKings will soon be available across other Dish-owned services including Boost Mobile and SlingTV.
Whether this nets any new subscribers or persuades those on the fence to stick around, one thing is for sure. The deal has got the attention of Wall Street. According to Market Watch, both companies saw their stock prices get a bump in the wake of the announcement.
