This week ESPN parted ways with NBA analyst Paul Pierce after the former Boston Celtic was seen partying with strippers and alcohol in an Instagram Live video.
Social media users heavily referenced John Witherspoon’s famous quote in the “Friday” film about getting fired on their day off as people laughed at Pierce’s situation. One of those to find humor in the matter is Shaquille O’Neal, who couldn’t contain his laughter while on air.
During Tuesday’s NBA postgame show on TNT, O’Neal was in the middle of a serious discussion regarding game plans that the Celtics executed in the era of Pierce, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, and Rajon Rondo. However, it’s when Pierce’s name came up that O’Neal stopped mid-sentence and burst out laughing.
Meanwhile, the other co-host on the shows, Adam Lefkoe, Candace Parker, and Dwyane Wade, couldn’t hide their emotions as they all went in different directions to hide their laughter.
As for Pierce, the former ESPN analyst moves on to better things, as he stated on Twitter.
