After a long hiatus, a certain “Jerry from Queens” returned as a caller into Steve Somers’ WFAN show on Monday night to address an issue the two had awhile back, according to Newsday.
As previously reported by BSM, “Jerry from Queens,” better known as sitcom legend Jerry Seinfeld, got into a disagreement with Somers after the radio host asked him for Larry David’s updated email address. David, a Yankees fan, had previously been a guest on Somers’ WFAN show, so the request wasn’t without precedent.
A longtime, occasional guest on the show, Seinfeld returned to apologize to Somers over the air.
“So good to be back with you in the ‘schoomze’ room,” said Seinfeld. “I’m sorry for any misunderstanding or confusion.”
Seinfeld went on to say that it had been a while since he listened to the station and he missed the entire feud. He also mentioned that he couldn’t recall what prompted him not to give David’s email address to Somers.
As Newsday reports, Seinfeld also told Somers that he never thought about buying the Mets in the offseason, adding, “I don’t need more people yelling at me on 79th Street when the Mets are on a losing streak.”
The two also talked about some of baseball’s new rules, which Seinfeld strong disapproves of.
“It makes me sick… I like the 18-inning games,” said Seinfeld. “The DH coming to the NL, I could vomit on the street.”
