Vittert had not made an appearance on the network since January

Fox News has parted ways with correspondent and weekend co-anchor Leland Vittert. The network didn’t provide any further details over the decision for both parties to part ways, but a Fox News spokesperson did confirm the news to Mediaite.

“We have mutually and amicably parted ways with Leland Vittert,” a Fox News spokeswoman said. Mediaite reached Vittert for their comment over the situation but didn’t respond to their request.

Vittert joined Fox News in 2010 as a foreign correspondent. Despite spending over a decade at the network, rumors circulated a possible departure for Vittert since he quietly disappeared from the air.

Vittert was last seen on the Fox News airwaves back in January, and his Twitter account hasn’t been active since the start of 2021. During the Donald Trump presidency, the former commander-in-chief attacked the Vittert, telling the then-Fox News host to return to CNN.

“Were @FoxNews weekend anchors, @ArthelNeville and @LelandVittert, trained by CNN prior to their ratings collapse?” Trump wrote in a 2019 tweet. “In any event, that’s where they should be working, along with their lowest-rated anchor, Shepard Smith!”

Joe Scarborough: Brian Kilmeade, GOP Pushing Harmful Rhetoric of IRS Agents

“These lies have been spread by Chuck Grassley. By Kevin McCarthy. By top news hosts at Fox News. This is not Infowars. This is mainstream, pro-Trump rhetoric.”

MSNBC Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough went on a scathing rant Friday morning, claiming Fox News hosts are, in conjunction with top Republicans, pushing dangerous rhetoric about the Internal Revenue Service’s desire to hire 87,000 new agents.

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade, who Scarborough never mentioned by name, last week said during The Brian Kilmeade Show on Fox News Radio an IRS job posting’s insistence that some duties including carrying a firearm and willingness to “use deadly force, if necessary” meant agents would “hunt down and kill middle-class taxpayers that don’t pay enough” calling it “Joe Biden’s new army”.

Scarborough noted Kilmeade’s comments by saying “These are the lies that have been spread not by — this is what’s so disturbing– not by back benchers. These lies have been spread by Chuck Grassley. By Kevin McCarthy. By top news hosts at Fox News. This is not Infowars. This is mainstream, pro-Trump rhetoric. And they are deliberately trying to get Americans to a position of where they’ll do harm to IRS agents.”

Scarborough later reiterated his point by bringing up Kilmeade’s comments once again. It’s the second time this week Scarborough has tangled with a Fox News host, after Tucker Carlson claimed the MSNBC host was “above the law” after the 2001 death of a staffer in his Florida congressional office.

While filling in as a guest host on “The ReidOut,” MSNBC host Tiffany Cross stated on Thursday the United States is already in a “civil war.”

Cross blamed right-wing ming pointed to the response from some conservatives who have responded with anger after last week’s FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago.

“It’s not really rhetoric that we can deal with. I mean, you have millions of people turning into a propaganda network every night,” Cross said, referencing Fox News, per Mediaite

“And then, as if that were not bad enough, that’s an extremist network itself; you have these fringe popup outlets from OAN to Newsmax.”

Furthermore, Cross stated that some believe a Civil War is coming again to the U.S., but the host says it’s already here.

“People keep saying a civil war is coming,” Cross added. “I would say a civil war is here. And I don’t mean to be hyperbolic. We can look at what has happened in the past week alone since all this has happened.”

“We’ve had two people tried to declare war with FBI field offices. I don’t think at this point we’re all gonna go home and pack up our bags and go home and sing ‘Kumbaya.’”

“The Daily Show” is launching a six-part podcast series featuring their correspondent Jordan Klepper.

In a press release obtained by Barret News Media, “Jordan Klepper Fingers the Conspiracy” will join “The Daily Show’s” catalog of podcasts.

“Jordan Klepper encounters some of the more imaginative, conspiratorial minds America has to offer,” the statement said.

“In this six-episode limited podcast series, Jordan steps off the trail to dig deep into some of the wildest theories he’s heard and trace their origins with journalists, experts, and anyone who might have a lead on when JFK Jr. is coming back.”

The Comedy Central program’s audio library already includes Hold Up, hosted by correspondent Dulcé Sloan and writer Josh Johnson, and Beyond the Scenes, hosted by Roy Wood Jr., which just began its second season this month.

Klepper’s new podcast doesn’t have a debut date but will be dropping this fall across all major podcast platforms and be produced in partnership with iHeartMedia.

Last year’s Jordan Klepper “Fingers The Pulse – Into The MAGAverse” is the highest-rated and most-watched Daily Show special on YouTube to date.
