Former “Ellen” Producer Feels Controversy is Behind Show Ending

DeGeneres announced that 2021-22 season will be her daytime show’s last

One of Ellen DeGeneres’ former producers is blaming the show’s demise on DeGeneres’ attitude toward her employees which resulted in a toxic culture and a lack of interest from viewers.

Two-time Emmy Award-winning producer Hedda Muskat told the Australian show Sunrise that staff would walk around on eggshells because of the way DeGeneres treated her staff.

“When I would go in to pitch Ellen who we have on the show today for our production meetings, she looked away. She showed no interest with any of the news-breaking stories,” Muskat told host Natalie Barr. “She really showed a lot of despise for a lot of my people that we were pitching to her, which is fine. It’s a pitch. I don’t care about that.”

Muskat said that her own personal experience was shared by at least “over a hundred employees” that worked on the production over nearly two decades.

“I was not able to have any connection with her, make any eye contact, and here’s the thing: It’s not just me, or three of us; there were over a hundred employees over the 19 years that walk away with a sickened feeling about working there,” she admitted. “As much as I loved my job as a booker and producer, I was almost relieved when I got fired. I wanted to take a shower; it was like a whole new dawn.”

DeGeneres announced this week that the show would be ending after 19 seasons on daytime television.

Putin Laughs at NBC Reporter’s Question Asking if He’s a “Killer”

The question is a follow up to Biden’s statement in an ABC News interview in March where he called Putin a “killer.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin sat down with NBC reporter Keir Simmons for an in-depth interview. One of the first questions Simmons asked Putin if he was a “killer,” which caused him to laugh.

“Mr. President, are you a killer?” Simmons asked.

“Over my tenure, I’ve gotten used to attacks from all kinds of angles and from all kinds of areas under all kinds of pretext and reasons and at different caliber and fierceness, and none of it surprises me,” Putin responded.

Simmons pressed the president once more with the question, but he avoided the question. “Sentiments in terms of who calls someone what kind of labels, this is not something I worry about in the least,” Putin said.

The question is a follow-up to Biden’s statement in an ABC News interview in March. Biden went on to call the Russian president a “killer.”

Russia has demanded that President Biden apologize for the remark, though Putin stated the comments do not hurt him.

Tensions within Russia and the U.S. relationship are at an all-time high, but Putin said in the NBC interview that he is hopeful about working with Biden.

The two presidents have their first meeting next week. Biden expects to confront the Russian president on cyberattacks from Russian groups, Ukraine, and the treatment of jailed Kremlin opponent leader Alexei Navalny, along with other issues.

In the last year, MSNBC Joe Scarborough compared former President Donald Trump to the Russian politician using that killer narrative. The host stated that Trump “would kill reporters if he could get away with it.”

California Republican gubernatorial candidate Caitlyn Jenner was the target of a joke by late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.

During a segment on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” the comedian poked fun at Jenner’s appearance on “The View” last week and referred to her as “Trump in a wig.”

“Are we sure that isn’t Donald Trump in a Caitlyn Jenner wig?” Kimmel asked as he posted side-by-side images that showed them doing similar facial expressions. “The resemblance is uncanny.”

Kimmel proceeded to call the rest of Jenner’s interview “nonsense,” insisting the reality star is in the governor’s race only for attention and naming her “Caitlyn Jenner Car-crash-ian.”

Jenner didn’t stand pat and took to Twitter, where she responded to Kimmel’s jokes about her in his monologue.

“Last night @jimmykimmel called me Donald Trump with a wig,” Jenner tweeted. “He obviously believes that trans women are simply men with wigs on. Where is the outrage from the left or LGBT community? Being WOKE must be optional if you are a Democrat.”

Jenner continued to call out Kimmel in a follow-up tweet, including one where she scrutinized him for wearing blackface during a Comedy Central skit years ago.

“Speaking of @jimmykimmel he also received a pass from the WOKE on his use of black face and racist actions. Hypocrite,” Jenner tweeted.

The reality star has been making the interview rounds in the media for her campaign. Jenner recently sat down with Fox News host Sean Hannity to discuss her potential policies.
