Bally Sports got their scoop.
Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson announced his new role as Bally Sports national NBA insider. Robinson is going to handle all types of NBA news in a multimedia role for the company.
The reporter and commentator has covered the league for years through his podcast “Scoop B Radio.” The show has touted guests like Pete Sampras, Mark Cuban, Shaquille O’Neal, DJ Khaled, Don Lemon, and the voice behind Apple’s Siri technology. He also made frequent appearances on television networks as a guest analyst. Robinson’s prior stops include writing roles for Source Magazine, RESPECT Magazine, and a senior columnist position at Basketball Society Online.
“In my new role as Bally Sports’ National NBA Insider, I’ll share insight on NBA players, legends and present news, but also relevant information around the league both in print and on camera,” Robinson said on Twitter.
Bally Sports recently transitioned from being Fox Sports and is launching digital platforms while bringing on a new national team to support its regional television efforts.
The NBA has entranced the journalist since childhood. He grew up in northern New Jersey and New York City. Robinson began his career working at his family’s shoe stores “The Athlete’s Foot” and “Men’s Walkers” in Harlem, New York. He crossed paths with names like Dizzy Gillespie and NBA Hall of Famers Dominique Wilkins and Hakeem Olajuwon.
Flash forward to age 12 and Robinson was already starting his NBA coverage by landing “Nets Slammin’ Planet,” his own AM radio show with the New Jersey Nets in the 1990s.
Since then, “Scoop B” has elevated his standing and credibility throughout the industry and even made appearances in the NBA 2K franchise.
“I wake up every morning loving what I’m doing; I get paid to talk about sports,” Robinson said to Fansided in 2017. “To be young and doing what I’m doing, the sky is the limit as long as I stay consistent. I’m not chasing anything though; good things will come to you as long as you just stay consistent.”
