The widow of a military veteran joined WBAL NewsRadio Monday to discuss her first Memorial Day without her husband, Army 1st Lt. Dax Conrad.

The 26-year-old died during a training run last October at Joint-Base McChord in Washington State.

Emily Zembas shared hope and gratitude for the prospect of healing after her husband’s untimely death. She also shared her thoughts about a ceremony that took place Monday to honor his memory.

“In a way, I’m excited, in a way I’m sad. I feel almost every emotion you can probably feel going to an untimely death and the possibility she may be able to help another suffering person heal.”

Conrad was one of several people honored at the Memorial Day ceremony at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium, one of the largest events of its kind in the State of Maryland.

“It makes you think about the day, especially very differently. Not just for me and the fact that I lost Dax, but also all of the other families, and all of the other spouses and family members who also honor this day,” Zembas added.

Zembas said she will work to help other military widows who may be in the grieving process.

“It’s ok to continue living,” Zembas said. “It’s OK to continue doing the things you love because at the end of the day that is how you honor their legacy.”

Charlie Kirk: Media Trying to ‘Bankrupt” Alex Jones

Kirk began the show by admitting several people had told him to avoid an interview with the controversial pundit.

On Wednesday’s edition of The Charlie Kirk Show podcast, Kirk sat down with Alex Jones of InfoWars to discuss the loss in his recent defamation lawsuit filed by parents of the victims of the Sandy Hook massacre, which Kirk viewed as “unfair” and “blatantly political”.

“Even mainline reporters interview Charlie Manson,” Jones joked. “I’m the worst person in the world, but people should still want to talk to me. The truth is they want to misrepresent what I’ve said and done. That’s why they don’t want me to ever be live on-air”

Kirk then claimed the media is trying to “bankrupt” Jones by not letting him apologize for the things he’s said in the past, before asking Jones to give his side of the story the media isn’t covering.

“This is their new weaponization of the media,” Jones said. (The Sandy Hook massacre) was a small part of what I cover. I question every major event. I questioned Uvalde. I believe children died in Ulvade, but the head of the state police in Texas and the mayor of Uvalde say there’s a cover up and they’ve been lied to.

“They want to punish people who question things. They want to say ‘Oh, he’s not a populist leader. He’s not a popular person. No, he’s the Sandy Hook man. And so they’ve used that like claiming Trump says all Mexicans are criminals. Trump never said all Mexicans are criminals. He said some very good people come across the border, the very bad people we should screen them.

“So just like they tried to make it ‘Trump hates all Hispanics’, same here. It’s fake news. It’s been total misinfo. Even CNN today had to retract and say ‘Ok, Jones’ cellphone wasn’t given to the other lawyers’. All that stuff was made up. And it’s just next level desperate. So now they’ve got the January 6th Committee to demonize Trump supporters and the American people. Now they’re using Sandy Hook to demonize the independent media. Just like I was de-platformed four years ago and was patient zero for that, now I’m patient zero for all of the new censorship that’s taking place.”

Kirk began the show by admitting several people had told him to avoid an interview with the controversial pundit. Jones, who was ordered to pay millions in damages to the families of the Sandy Hook victims, is an often discredited conspiracy theorist.

In a recent story with Vanity Fair, Rachel Maddow revealed she has several different projects in the works, including podcasts.

She is currently working on a non-fiction narrative podcast set to be released in the fall.

“It’s an American history, underappreciated story, that has resonance for all these things we’re dealing with today—the threat of authoritarianism and the question of whether or not criminal law is the appropriate venue, and has the right constitutional powers, to handle those kinds of threats,” Maddow told Vanity Fair. “It’s about journalism and journalistic ethics, and the ability of powerful people to manipulate American systems.”

The podcast will be the first released by her Surprise Inside production company.

VF also reports Maddow, during her contract negotiations with MSNBC, was approached by SiriusXM to host a weekly satellite radio show, with a nearly $40 million per year salary attached. SiriusXM declined to comment.

Maddow will continue to host her television show on MSNBC on Mondays at 9:00 PM, with Alex Wagner taking over on a Tuesday through Friday basis.
