As the United States inches closer back to normalcy, various buildings and locations are welcoming back people to 100-percent capacity, and The White House press briefing room is one of them.

“Since the onset of the pandemic, our priority has been to keep journalists safe while ensuring that the critical work of informing the public could continue uninterrupted,” the White House Correspondents Association said in a memo relayed by The Hill.

“We appreciate the sacrifices made by every member of the press corps, and we thank you all for your cooperation over the last 15 months.”

Beginning this week, The James S. Brady Press Briefing Room will not only see a total capacity return, but the White House Correspondents Association’s pre-pandemic seating chart is also coming back.

More than 98-percent of the 500 member journalists who replied to a recent survey stated they were fully vaccinated, indicating more than two weeks had gone by since their second coronavirus vaccine dose or the only shot of a single-shot regimen.

In a dramatic turn of events, billionaire Elon Musk made another proposal Monday to purchase Twitter for $44 billion. Musk’s change of heart comes less than two weeks before the two sides were scheduled to square off in court.

According to the Associated Press, Twitter said it will close the transaction at $54.20 a share. There’s no indication that the company will drop a lawsuit that it filed against Musk several months ago when he announced that a deal to buy the company was off.

Musk contended that Twitter undercounted the number of fake bot accounts on its platform. Twitter said Musk acted in “bad faith” and accused him of backing out of the deal when the market started turning.

“I don’t think Twitter will give up its trial date on just Musk’s word — it’s going to need more certainty about closing,” Andrew Jennings, professor at Brooklyn Law School, told the AP.

In July, Twitter wrote that “having mounted a public spectacle to put Twitter in play and having proposed and then signed a seller-friendly merger agreement, Musk apparently believes that he — unlike every other party subject to Delaware contract law — is free to change his mind, trash the company, disrupt its operations, destroy stockholder value, and walk away.”

According to the New York Times, Musk is scheduled to be deposed for the upcoming trial Thursday and Friday in Austin, Texas.

Critics have speculated that if Musk does end up buying Twitter, he could reinstate former President Donald Trump’s banned account.

Podcaster and political commentator Keith Olbermann took aim at media personality Dan Bongino for his comments about World War III last weekend.

The “Unfiltered” host said on his Fox News show Saturday that he believes the U.S. government is slow-walking its people into a major conflict.

“We’re in a really dangerous place right now,” said Bongino. “The sabotage of the crucial Nord Stream pipeline — delivers gas from Russia to Germany — is a really big deal.”

According to Reuters, major leaks that suddenly erupted in the Nord Stream gas pipelines that run from Russia to Europe under the Baltic Sea have generated some theories. Russian President Vladimir Putin has blamed the west.

“Who blew up the pipeline or pieces of it?” Bongino said. “That’s the multi-billion-dollar question. The blame game is already in full swing over who’s responsible.”

“Based on this glazed look in his eyes, the question Dan Bongino SHOULD be asking is: Who knows where I parked my damn car?” Olbermann tweeted in response to Bongino’s post.

Olbermann’s response to Bongino’s post drew plenty of reaction.

“As usual, no evidence, just accusations,” one user said about Bongino’s comments.

“Looking at the performance of Russian equipment in Ukraine, isn’t the culprit more likely a combination of poor construction and lack of maintenance leading to a catastrophic failure?” Another tweet read.

Experts are reportedly calling the leaks an act of sabotage.
