Following Afghanistan falling under Taliban rule over the weekend, some Fox News anchors such as Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham objecting to America taking in those fleeing the situation.

Rep. Ilhan Omar went on “The ReidOut” where she spoke about Carlson’s and Ingraham’s comments towards not wanting the United States to accept refugees, stating that it’s part of their “playbook.”

“The reality is that we’ve been in this conflict — in this war — for 20 years. There are people who’ve helped us in this mission. There are people whose lives are going to be at risk, and we have to do everything that we can to bring them to safety,” Omar said.

“We’ve done this many times where we have evacuated people, airlifted them into safe spaces so that we can properly vet them and have them come to the United States as vetted refugees. I know a little bit about that, you know?”

Furthermore, Omar has experience with the refugee system since she’s a former Somalian refugee herself, revealed the process, which is a vetted operation and doesn’t let anyone into the U.S.

“I know what it’s like to be a child in a family scrambling for safety in a war-torn country. I know the rigorous process you go through to get vetted as a refugee,” Omar said.

“We are the most vetted people who come to the United States. The process is long, and it doesn’t just end when you arrive on the shores. It continues for years until you are eligible for citizenship at five years of entrance.”

Mediaite reports that Lara Logan has been dropped by her talent agency UTA in the fallout regarding comments she made during a guest appearance on Fox News in late November.

The former “60 minutes” correspondent compared Dr. Anthony Fauci to Dr. Josef Mengele, the Nazi doctor who performed cruel medical experiments on Jewish prisoners.

“This is what people say to me, that he doesn’t represent science to them. He represents Josef Mengele. The Nazi doctor who did experiments on Jews during the Second World War and in the concentration camps,” Logan said.

UTA chief communications officer Seth Oster confirmed the agency severed ties with Logan several weeks ago. Additionally, a UTA insider corroborated to Mediaite that she was let go over her “highly offensive” and “unacceptable” remarks, which sparked anger within the agency.

Fox News never employed Logan, but she did host a show on their streaming platform on Fox Nation (“Lara Logan Has No Agenda”) and appeared regularly on the cable news network as an unpaid guest.

However, since those comments, Logan has disappeared from the air at Fox News and hasn’t been booked since.

DirecTV recently announced that it is dropping One America News (OAN) from its listings. As a result, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) says he is canceling his subscription to the satellite television company.

“DirecTV is canceling OAN, so I just canceled my home DirecTV. Why give money to people who hate us?” Paul said on Twitter

Paul wasn’t alone in his stance deciding to cut ties with the company as Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) commented on the matter on Twitter.

“The Left’s purge continues: YouTube demonetizes Dan Bongino. DirectTV drops One America News. Twitter suspends Dr. Malone. Who’s next?” Jordan tweeted

DirecTV stated the decision to drop the network was made “following a routine internal review,” adding that keeping OAN in their lineup wasn’t a good business decision.

“We informed Herring Networks that, following a routine internal review, we do not plan to enter into a new contract when our current agreement expires,” a DirecTV spokesperson said in an emailed statement to Reuters.

The next Presidential Election isn’t until 2024, but plenty of politicians are eyeing a possible run to the White House in two years. One of them is former President Donald Trump. After losing in 2020, he has hinted about a possible run in two years.

When asked about Trump running again for president in 2024, Fox News host Laura Ingraham wasn’t committed to supporting him yet during an interview with Northern Virginia Magazine

“I’m not saying I’m there for him yet,” Ingraham said. “But I think whether he runs or not — I mean, his policies worked. Trump’s blueprint for policy — a forward-looking, optimistic set of pro-America policies — that blueprint, without a doubt, is winning.”

According to a public poll, it shows that the vast majority of Republicans would support Trump, and many in the political party hope to see him run for president again.

It’s too early to commit to a candidate until all those planning to run for president declare their candidacy, as it allows for everyone to see all their options on the Republican side.
