Vice News and Vice World News have new leadership; as Variety reports, Beverly Chase has been promoted to vice president of current programming and development.

Chase was most recently the executive producer of long-form for Vice News. In her new role with the media outlet, she will continue serving as executive producer and showrunner of “Vice” on Showtime.

Furthermore, Chase will manage original programming, specials, and long-form projects while growing her position at “Vice News Tonight.”

“Bev’s superb visual sense and masterful command of story powers so much of our award-winning work at Vice News,” said Subrata De, executive vice president and global head of programming and development for Vice News.

“She pushes the boundaries of storytelling in news, insisting on a cinematic and urgent viewing experience for the audience without compromising the journalistic value of the piece. I’m thrilled to see her role expand across our programming.”

Chase joined Vice News in 2015, working on “Vice” at HBO, “Investigations by Vice” at Hulu, and “Vice” on Showtime during her first years with the company. Furthermore, she worked as a producer at NBC News for 15 years.

CNN has announced it is adding a replay of Real Time with Bill Maher to its weekend lineup.

The show — which originally airs on Friday evenings on HBO — will begin airing on CNN on Saturdays at 8:00 PM ET on March 23rd.

“The addition of Real Time With Bill Maher to CNN’s weekend primetime lineup marks the start of a commitment and investment into topical entertainment programming that we’re bringing to the weekends,” said Amy Entelis, CNN Executive Vice President of Talent, CNN Originals and Creative Development for CNN Worldwide.

“We’ve seen that audiences enjoy Bill’s perspective and approach to news and information, and we’re looking forward to the show now being on CNN.”

Real Time with Bill Maher is in its 22nd season. The “Overtime” segment of the show had previously been shown on CNN on Friday evenings at 11:30 PM ET. That will end with the entire hour-long show receiving an encore presentation on Saturdays in primetime.

Don Lemon: No One Has Been More Sensitive or Touchy Than Elon Musk

“For someone who doesn’t care about what people write or say about him, he sure does care about what people write or say about him.”

Don Lemon is shining a light on his interaction with Elon Musk that led to the cancellation of his digital video program for the Musk-owned X social media platform.

Last week, Lemon revealed that Musk would be the first guest on his new program. However, he later shared that Musk canceled the contract for the show after the interview. The billionaire claimed Lemon was being controlled by former CNN CEO Jeff Zucker in a subsequent post to the platform.

In an interview with People magazine on Sunday, Lemon shared his side of the story.

“I went into this with my eyes open. I’ve interviewed many world leaders, presidents to convicts, and no one has been more sensitive or touchy than Elon Musk,” Lemon said. “And during the interview and during other interviews, he constantly says he doesn’t care what people write or say about him. For someone who doesn’t care about what people write or say about him, he sure does care about what people write or say about him.”

Don Lemon continued by sharing his hypothesis that Musk simply isn’t used to being held accountable for his words or actions.

“He’s not used to having to answer to anyone, especially someone like me who doesn’t share his worldview, who doesn’t look like him. You know what I’m saying? When I questioned him about things that he put out on social media, posted or tweeted, that weren’t factual, it was very uncomfortable for him,” Lemon revealed. “To the point where [he and his team] wanted to see the interview before it aired. Which was a big capital N no.”

Earlier this week, Don Lemon revealed his contract for a digital video show on the X platform was canceled by Elon Musk. Musk defended the decision but says the deal could still be a lucrative one for the former CNN host.

After it was reported that Lemon would still be publishing episodes of The Don Lemon Show to the social media platform, Musk quipped that the former CNN host would still be entitled to advertising revenue generated from the program airing on X.

“Even though I think Don (Lemon) is a pompous fool who spouts nonsense, he is still free to upload his show to X and will receive advertising revenue,” Musk wrote in a post to X.

Musk reportedly decided to end the contract with Lemon — which he reportedly failed to sign — after a tense interview for the debut episode of the program.

In a snippet shared with CNN, Don Lemon is seen asking Musk questions about his financial support of Donald Trump, and also about the billionaire’s alleged drug usage.
