The ex-president began the latest war of words when he fired back at Musk on his social media platform Truth Social.
Truth posted a message Thursday refuting the report and slamming the unnamed journalist who published the story.
Truth Social was developed by Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) and is headed by former congressman Devin Nunes.
