Published

on

WEEI and NESN’s annual Jimmy Fund radio-telethon helped raise nearly 3.4 million dollars to benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Over the past 14 years over $40 million dollars has been raised by the Boston media groups to support the cause.

Visits and call-ins were made by current and former Boston athletes David Ortiz, Curt Schilling, Roger Clemens, Dustin Pedroia and Mookie Betts. Celtics Head Coach Brad Stephens, and former Red Sox manager and current Indians skipper Terry Francona took part as well.

New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady contributed in an even bigger way, providing a five hundred thousand dollar donation.
