One of the premier voices of Deadspin is going silent for the time being. Drew Magary, who also is a regular contributor to GQ, was in some kind of accident last week. Deadspin Editor-in-Chief Megan Greenwell wrote Monday morning on the site that he has “been moved to the injured reserved list.”

He is receiving the best possible care, is surrounded by his family and friends, and is doing well under the circumstances. We miss his randomly capitalized exuberant tweets and his Hater’s Guide To The Williams-Sonoma Catalog even more than you do, but we want to allow him the time he needs to recover without worrying about blogs, and the privacy to do so without us haranguing him. We love him and are rooting for him, and we can’t wait to announce that he’s been designated to return. Feel free to use the comments to send him good thoughts and Kirk Cousins GIFs.

Magary could miss his annual “Hater’s Guide to the Williams Sonoma Catalog,” which has become a Christmas tradition for Deadspin readers. There has been an outpouring of support and good wishes from Deadspin staffers, regular readers, and colleagues at other outlets across social media.

A commenter on Greenwell’s post about Magary asked for specifics about what happened. Greenwell responded that out of respect for the privacy of Magary and his family, the site would not provide details of the situation.
