The NFL Network announced earlier this week that Indianapolis has a deal in place to continue hosting the NFL Scouting Combine through 2021 with a series of one year options after that.

Along with that stability comes the announcement that starting with next year’s combine, the event will be more TV friendly than ever. Televised drills will be moved from the mornings to afternoon and prime time slots.

“We are always looking at ways of bringing more football to a wider audience,” the league said in a statement to the NFL Network. “This will enable us to accomplish the goal of reaching more fans while still fully maintaining the football integrity of the event. We will adjust the schedule to ensure a positive experience for the players and clubs.”

The NFL Scouting Combine saw its reach grow in 2019. The event, which had traditionally only been carried by the NFL Network, was picked up by both ESPN and ABC. The future of the Combine’s relationship with those networks was not mentioned in an NFL press release.
