Don’t expect to see Noah Syndergaard chumming it up with Mike Francesa any time soon. The former New York Mets pitcher recently left the team in free agency, and Francesa thinks the Mets will be “better off” for it.

“The Mets are better off without Syndergaard. In case you haven’t noticed, they have been without him for years,” Francesa tweeted.

“Damn, didn’t know you were still alive,” Syndergaard responded. “Congrats.”

The Los Angeles Angels pitcher wasn’t done; he kept lobbing shots at Francesa all afternoon last Friday.

“Mikes retired and in the broadcasters HOF,” Joe Burke said to Syndergaard. “How’s that lookin’ for you? 47-31 aint cuttin’ it dude.”

“Did he make the Lawnmower Hall of Fame too?” Syndergaard replied. Another Francesa defender rattled off the hosts’ accomplishments, and Syndergaard replied with a “Damn Daniel” GIF.

“Mike was number one in this town for 30 years,” Daniel Arons tweeted. “His impact, legacy, and importance in NYC will be felt and remembered for a long time. You had an underperforming run and never lived up to expectations you’ll be forgotten about quickly. Enjoy the sunshine and Mickey Mouse.”

Francesa never engaged with Syndergaard directly but did say this via Twitter on Saturday morning: “I competed every day for 35 years (and won) in my chosen profession in the greatest city in the world. Noah whined and ran away.”

Syndergaard, ready to get the last word, clapped back.

“Only thing you’ve ever won is being a gas-bag Mets hating opportunist,” the pitcher replied. “All you’ve done is talk shit and spread toxic crap for a career. Congrats again sweetie, you’re doing great.”

Finally, out of left field, Audacy and MLB Network insider Jon Heyman weighed in. “Here’s another difference: Noah is entertaining,” the baseball insider said on Twitter.

The media coverage in Anaheim won’t be anything like it was for Syndergaard in New York, but he’ll be ready to call out the haters no matter where he plays.
