The Dallas Cowboys typically play in the most-watched regular season game on Thanksgiving, and that was the case this year, but “America’s Team” can add Christmas to their list of ratings-winning contests in 2022 as well.

The Cowboys/Eagles NFC East showdown on Christmas Eve drew in 27.8 million viewers. It was the best Week 16 audience for the league since 2009.

No games were played on Christmas Eve in 2021, but there was a doubleheader of contests on Christmas Day which fell on a Saturday. Compared to the 4 p.m. window last year (Browns/Packers), viewership for Cowboys/Eagles was up 15% according to FOX.

FOX reported Dolphins/Packers on Christmas this year drew in 25.9 million, beating the Rams/Broncos game on CBS (22.57 million) and Buccaneers/Cardinals on NBC (17.15 million).
