Dwight Smith had some interesting comments on the legitimacy of Super Bowls. The Super Bowl XXXVII champion, joined Ronnie & TKras from 95.3 WDAE on Radio Row in Tampa.

Smith told WDAE that “It depends on what (Las Vegas money) determines for the game. How Vegas is going to lose the most money,” Smith said when asked how he saw the Buccaneers’ second Super Bowl appearance playing out this week.

The former defensive back, who returned two Rich Gannon interceptions for touchdowns during the team’s first Super Bowl appearance, had some bizarre but intriguing insight on Super Bowl matchups.

When asked, “So do you think the Bucs’ orginal Super Bowl, that you were apart of, and won, was illegitmate?”

Smith: “I think every (Super Bowl) is,” he exclaimed.

He went on to suggest that Scott Norwood’s missed field goal in Super Bowl XXV was “what was supposed to happen” in the game and that he knew from the start of the 2020 season that the Buccaneers and Chiefs would meet in the Super Bowl “because the league wanted Brady vs. Mahomes”.

Ronnie Lane and Tom Krasniqi recorded the interview after their show ended on Tuesday and played it back Wednesday morning. They gave a disclaimer before replaying the conversation saying that Dwight Smith was going to say some shocking things.
