“The FOX press release makes it sound as if it is Outkick’s gambling content that the company finds most attractive.”

Clay Travis has sold Outkick to FOX. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the network issued a press release confirming the news.

Outkick’s multi-platform brand will continue to be operated as a stand-alone entity. Savage Ventures, Travis’s partners in Outkick, will continue having an operational role in the business.

The FOX press release makes it sound as if it is Outkick’s gambling content that the company finds most attractive. FOX has a partnership with FanDuel as does Outkick. The press release notes that Outkick has been a “significant source of sports wagering referrals” to the online sports book.

“As FOX further diversifies our growing digital portfolio and broadens our position in the sports wagering ecosystem, there could be no better acquisition than Outkick,” Lachlan Murdoch, Fox Corporation’s Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said in a press release. “Clay and his team have quickly made Outkick a content powerhouse with a very large, loyal and engaged audience. We expect the synergies presented across FOX’s existing portfolio of assets will turbocharge this exciting business.”

There are plenty of questions left to be answered, including what it may mean for the company’s future plans for Travis, who is part of the panel on FS1’s FOX Bet Live and has made multiple appearances on FOX News. Plenty in the radio industry will also wonder whether or not FOX plans to continue operating Outkick 360, a new radio and digital product featuring the former hosts of 104.5 the Zone’s Mid Day 180.

“Outkick has grown out of my passion for producing bold, well-informed, and entertaining content about sports, current events and, more recently, sports wagering. With the power of FOX behind us, we look forward to maintaining Outkick’s unwavering commitment to that mission, as well as further accelerating the growth of our audience, and continued leadership in the sports wagering affiliate category,” Travis said.
